Every new Franchise Owner within our Famiglia is provided a Kono Pizza Real Estate Representative who will work with them to determine the best possible location for their new business. We will also assist our Franchise Owners with negotiations, Rental Offer/Letter of Intent (LOI) and Lease Agreement signing. We support our Franchise Owners through every aspect of the exciting yet challenging store opening process—including ongoing marketing and advertising support. The Kono Pizza team will assure that each new location opening is truly grand and will help set them up for continued success.
Carlo was born and raised in Italy and moved to the U.S. when he was 15 years old. Following graduation from Kean University, Carlo launched successful entrepreneurial ventures across the US in different industries. He Co-Founded KRR in 2013 with David and Greg. He Co-Owned and operated multiple franchises in the fitness and food industry. In late 2013, Carlo Co-Founded Kono Pizza USA and added to the KRR portfolio.
David has over 20 years of experience as a serial Entrepreneur at all levels; franchisee/multi-unit franchisee, in 2 different franchise concepts and a franchisor. Currently, he sits on the Board Of Directors of a technology company called In Touch technology. Like his business partner Carlo, David is widely known as a “Go Getter” – the New Jersey natives often clock in 70+ hours, 7 days a week without ever showing signs of slowing down.
Matt Van Note
(VP of Operations)
Matt spent the last 5 years working with Papa John’s in the Midwest and New York City. He started as an Operations Specialist and was promoted to Franchise Business Director overseeing 60 franchise groups in NYC. Consistently grew sales by over 5% and was responsible for resurrecting the market by improving franchise/ corporate relations, managed out under-performing franchisees and improved operations focus and deliverables. Matt changed the focus from owners to operators within the franchise community. His hands on approach and passion for the business was the driving force for NYC’s improvement.
Barbara is the Controller for Kono USA, LLC. She is responsible for maintaining the financial records for the company. Her responsibilities include accounts payable and receivable, financial statement preparation and analysis and managing cash flow.
Barbara has over 20 years of financial experience. She has 10 plus years financial experience in corporate financial services and 10 plus years working in the private sector. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Brooklyn College and an MBA in Finance from Long Island University.
Nicole Hinds is the administrative assistant for Kono USA, LLC. She is responsible for all administrative duties including payroll, assisting staff members and managing on an as needed basis, maintaining vendor relationships and assisting the controller with accounts receivable and payable. Nicole has over 20 years experience as an administrative assistant.
Emilio Verde is the Training Manager for Kono USA and also General Manager of the corporate location in the Newport Mall in Jersey City. He has been with Kono since day 1 and knows all there is to know about the daily operations. He is dedicated in ensuring the best possible experience for our customers.
